Yuzu
Kosho Green

Yuzu Kosho Green (500g)

Green yuzu kosho is a paste of green chili peppers and green yuzu fruit. Both yuzu, (which tastes like a combination of tangerine, grapefruit, Meyer lemon and lime) and green chili peppers are harvested from the same farm in Kyushu. The peel of ripe yuzu along with the juice is blended with red chili peppers that are fermented with salt to decrease their heat. The paste is a blend of spice and sweet citrus aroma.

It is traditionally used as a condiment for shabu shabu, tofu, noodles, and yakitori, but is fantastic with steak and sashimi.

Kagura no Sato is located in Shiroma, a small village surrounded by mountains in Miyazaki Prefecture. They have been growing yuzu for 50 years, mostly organically and they harvest only at the peak of ripeness. Because their orchards are at a high altitude, the fruit has a stronger aroma, higher acidity, and sugar content than yuzu grown at lower altitudes
