Yuzu Candy (candied yuzu)

Candied yuzu peel is made with yuzu peel, beet sugar, yuzu juice, and no additives. The peels are reminiscent of tangerine, grapefruit, Meyer lemon and lime and are soaked in yuzu syrup then coated in crisp sugar crystals. The peel is sweet, slightly chewy with a pleasant tang and light crunch of sugar. It is some of the best candied citrus peel you’ll find.

Use peels to decorate bon bons, in baked goods, on cheese plates, or dip them in chocolate. Irresistible as a snack!

Kagura no Sato is located in Shiroma, a small village surrounded by mountains in Miyazaki Prefecture. They have been growing yuzu for 50 years, mostly organically and they harvest only at the peak of ripeness. Because their orchards are at a high altitude, the fruit has a stronger aroma, higher acidity, and sugar content than yuzu grown at lower altitudes.
